Still a Woman.
Nothing hits harder than being told you have two chronic pelvic conditions that are treated with a hysterectomy. It makes you think about your life and your choices as a woman.
I have a daughter. I’m creeping up on 30. I’m not dating.
Do I want more kids? Yes.
It’s not a maybe, even though that’s what I tell people most days. It’s a yes.
And now I feel like I’m on a ticking clock.
Do I call it one-and-done and lose my reproductive organs?
Do I rush to have another simply because I want to?
Do I wait for a true partner and risk worsening conditions that could take that choice from me anyway?
I don’t know.
Nothing quite prepares you for the moment you have to consider what life looks like without the parts that made you feel like a woman in the first place.
